We raised around $3,000 for Community College students affected by the floods in Canoas, RS at our dinner on Sep 15th at Fernando’s Brazilian and Mexican Cuisine!

The amount collected will be part of a joined effort with Partners RS and Partners International to cover students expenses with computers, furniture, school supplies, public transportation vouchers and even psychological counseling!

Brazilian Film Festival is the largest Brazilian film festival in the Midwest and was conceived by the Illinois - São Paulo Chapter. MOSTRA was founded by Ariani Friedl in 2010 in Chicago. The event's motto is "Brazilian Films with a Social Conscience" and it is hosted by many educational and cultural institutions in the greater Chicago area. Since 2015, MOSTRA has also been showing the selected films in various Brazilian cities.
