2010 Youth Ambasador's Blog Spots:

Dasan Robinson is a Chicago Fire soccer pro team player, associated with IN Partners SfYD coordinator, Marc Maxey, and IL Partners.  This program-building opportunity emerged quickly at year end when Marc learned of the possibility of Dasan making a self-financed trip to RS for training,  his desire to do volunteer service with youth soccer for disadvantaged kids while in RS,  and his willingness to act as Investigator for the IN SfYD program following on the initial work of IN coaches last summer under the Partners Intl Coaching Coaches program.trip. It quickly won support from RS Partners.  When the Chicago Fire team put its support behind Dasan, we had to move quickly to fit their open training period window.  Dasan’s project proposal could be completed only days before departure as we waited for an itinerary from RS coach coordinator, Daniel Brauner.  Partners role is coordination, connection and orientation in Brazil, no travel or housing being provided by IN or RS Partners.  See the blog from Dasan below (click on Global Academy-- Professional  – more coming and will be posted on the IN Partners website soon)  http://metroleagues.com/?p=240

  • Women and Families Program:  Cristina Zariff and Helena Fogliatto,  Feb 14 – Mar 1

Cristina, who visited Indiana on a project exploring prevention of sexual diseases for women, returns to Indiana with her colleague in the Women’s League in Prevention of Cancer, Helen Fogliatti, on a project proposal (attached)  to develop a program, benefiting the adolescent girls in the Partners Viva Vila project focusing on education and awareness of adolescent body changes, self-awareness, self-esteem, and prevention of disease.  Cristina and Helena have already been working with Partners member, Cecilia Peralta (Muncie), on the project proposal.  Longtime Partners member, Norma Singley has arranged for consideration of this and related programs for RS girls for a statewide fundraising program of the Indiana Homemakers Extension Association.  Note:  an especially exciting element is that Helena was one of the earliest Partners Youth Ambassadors.  Now a successful psychologist counseling adolescent girls in trouble, Helena instigated this project in Alagrete because her Youth Ambassador experience in Indiana in the 1990s had taught her how Partners programs can change lives.  .            PARTNERS OF THE AMERICAS -----CONNECT>>SERVE>>CHANGE LIVES.
