Youth Agricultural Exchange Group Arrives!

The Youth Agricultural Exchange Group from Rio Grande do Sul has arrived in Indiana and are ready to meet some Hoosiers and learn from the best agriculturalists in the midwest! The group arrived on August 7th and will be spending the next two weeks traveling around Indiana visiting agriculture and agricultural education sites until their departure on August 24th.

Pictured in sidebar, our Agricultural Exchange group this year includes:

• Marcio Amaral, secretary of agriculture for Rio Grande do Sul
• Fernando Dornelles Alves, veternarian, teacher and group coordinator
• Vinicius Severo, beginning university student in veterinary science at URCAMP in Alegrete
• Ahlvaro Piexoto, high school agricultural student
• Matheus Amaral, high school agricultural student

    Activities

Indiana Partners is involved in a host of hemispheric activities ranging over business and industry to agriculture to education and beyond. Included is a Youth Exchange for youths aged 14-18, opportunities to meet professionals from Rio Grande do Sul and travel there on approved Partners projects, etc.

How To Get Involved:

• Become an active member of Indiana Partners of the Americas by completing the on-line Membership Application..
  Also become a Volunteer as guide or host for a visitor from our partner state.
• Learn about Partners programs and projects that are underway or which have been proposed.
• Develop a project that will benefit people in one or both of our partner states. This may involve inviting a specialist to address an organization, travel to the partner state for research, for artistic performance or to collaborate with peers.
