Indiana-Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil Partners receive Watson Prize for Innovation in Development Education

The David Watson prize was presented Nov. 21, 1998 in recognition of the Indiana Partners ReachOut program. The award is named for the late David Watson, former U.S. Agency for International Development official who was a pioneer in development education.

Sally Dell Lee receives Volunteer of the Year Award

Sally Dell Lee, a longtime member of the Indiana Partners, received the Dumond Peck Hill Volunteer of the Year award on Nov. 20, 1998 at the Partners of the Americas International convention in Washington, DC. The award is named for the Partner's late general counsel, and honors Western Hemisphere individuals who demonstrate extraordinary dedication to international volunteerism through their work in Partners.

Choir Trip Cited In Annual "TOP TEN"

The White River Youth Choir's concert tour to Brazil was ranked among the region's the top ten entertainment events of 1999, according to a recent article in THE STAR PRESS. The two week trip, co-sponsored by Partners chapters in Indiana and Rio Grande do Sul, resulted in a number of public concerts by the thirty-two member choir. Reporter Michelle Kinsey compiled the list which appeared in a late December, 1999 edition of the Muncie-based newspaper serving east-central Indiana. The list included Marvin Hamlish's appearance with the Muncie Symphony Orchestra and the opening of the Muncie Center for the Arts.
