Exchange in Washington DC and Brasilia

For the second year, Indiana Partners has cooperated with our international parent organization and the American Embassy in Brasilia in hosting a group of young Brazilians to visit, first Washington, DC, and then a partner state.

Hal Roepke, board member in Muncie, Indiana, arranged for a week's hosting for four kids and a teacher who came to Indiana under this program.

The group of four young people who came to Indiana were accompanied by Jean Pedro da Silva Gomes. Jean Pedro is an English teacher in Osório, Rio Grande do Sul. He was given a colorful book about Rio Grande do Sul by a legislator with the charge to deliver it to a significant official in Indiana. Hal Roepke reports: "Unable to meet with Dr. Gora, President of BSU, we made do with a delightful meeting with Dr. Smitherman, VP for educational technology at Ball State."
